Find My Friends v 6.1 – v 6.1.3
In this post you can see how to define your home location. This is entirely optional, however it provides an easy reference point when you browse the map.
Open the app, and select “Settings” 
:
Scroll down and tap on the “Set home location” choice:
You can either long-press on the map or tap on the home icon (if you are home) to set your home location.
