Find My Friends v 8.xxFind My Friends allows you to also define map zones for each contact you share locations, and get notified when he/she enters or exits them. To define a map zone, open the app and tap on the + button: Zoom in and long-tap on the zone center that you would like to add: Enter the zone name and tap OK: Your new zone will appear on the map with a green marker: To edit your zone, simply tap on its marker: That’s it! From now on, if a contact enters / exits your zone, you will be notified! 😉
Find My Friends v 6.1 – v 6.1.3Find My Friends allows you to also define map zones for each close contact, and get notified when he/she enters or exits them. To define map zones for a close contact, open the app and tap the contacts button : Tap on the contact’s image to edit its map zones: When its details screen is loaded, tap on the map zones icon : A new map will be shown, where you can define map zones for this contact. Find My Friends supports two types of map zones, green and orange, which can be considered as the safe and dangerous ones. To add a new zone tap on the plus button : In this example, we will create a green zone, however the same exact procedure can be followed to create an orange one as well. Note also that you can define any number of zones you like! So tap on the “green zone”, select a new zone, enter its name and press OK: Then long-press on the map to define the zone’s center. Use the zoom controls to make it as accurate as possible: Once you set the zone center, use the blue seek-bar at the top-left part of the screen to adjust its radius from 1 to 1000 meters: Finally, press OK to save the green zone for this contact: Press OK to save the zone for this contact. At anytime you can toggle all green and orange zones, by pressing the green and orange buttons respectively at the top of the screen. In addition, you can anytime edit any map zone by tapping on its marker: That’s it! From now on, assuming that this close contact is constantly sending his/her location to you, you will get notified when he/she enters or exits this zone!
