A new map will be shown, where you can define map zones for this contact. Find My Friends supports two types of map zones, green and orange, which can be considered as the safe and dangerous ones. To add a new zone tap on the plus button plus:

In this example, we will create a green zone, however the same exact procedure can be followed to create an orange one as well. Note also that you can define any number of zones you like!

So tap on the “green zone”, select a new zone, enter its name and press OK:

Then long-press on the map to define the zone’s center. Use the zoom controls to make it as accurate as possible:

Once you set the zone center, use the blue seek-bar at the top-left part of the screen to adjust its radius from 1 to 1000 meters:

Finally, press OK to save the green zone for this contact:

Press OK to save the zone for this contact. At anytime you can toggle all green and orange zones, by pressing the green green circle and orange orange circle buttons respectively at the top of the screen. In addition, you can anytime edit any map zone by tapping on its marker:

That’s it! From now on, assuming that this close contact is constantly sending his/her location to you, you will get notified when he/she enters or exits this zone!

Does this mean the two different colors can be used for whatever I want or do they have specific functions? What do you mean by “dangerous” zones? Are the alerts I receive different when a contact enters an orange versus green zone?
